According to WTO’s International Trade Statistics, the value of Iran’s pharmaceutical imports in 2008 was $2 billion. Iran’s pharmaceutical imports in 2000 was 0.3% of world’s total imports increasing to 0.5% in 2008.

The comparison of Iran’s pharmaceutical imports in different years present a 22% increase in Iran’s pharmaceuticals imports from 2000 to 2008. The annual percentage change for steel imports in 2006 was 63% which decreases to 37% in 2007 and 16% in 2008.
