On 15th October 2011, the EU Council adopted the Council Decision 2012/635/CFSP amending Decision 2010/413/CFSP concerning restrictive measures against Iran.

The construction or participation in the construction of the new oil tankers for Iran was prohibited. Moreover Iran’s Ministry of Oil, National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and all its subsidiaries were included in the sanction list of the European Union and their assets were frozen in Europe. The Decision also prohibited “The import, purchase or transport of Iranian natural gas” and also providing financial assistance to the prohibited activities.
